Supporting the Dyslexic Learner: Managing Maths

This six week course has been designed to help you understand how you can best support a child at home and at school.

Children with dyslexia may learn differently from you. We will cover how to recognise different learning profiles, multi-sensory learning, age-appropriate reading matter and tools, note taking, mindmapping, making numeracy more visual and how to gather evidence that a child needs help and support.

Tina Hunter is a highly experienced specialist teacher and assessor with over 20 years of experience in the field of further education. She has worked both in the UK and abroad, gaining valuable insight into a variety of educational systems and practices. It will cover multi-sensory strategies to support retrieval of maths facts, as well as, developing a better understanding of mathematical concepts.
