Educational and child psychologist Jody Walshe is coming to Bell House to discuss anxiety in children, and how to boost their resilience.
This session will look at the early warning signs of anxiety, and how we can spot them. Crucially, we will cover some 'top tips' to help parents support children and young people experiencing anxiety.
Boosting resilience can help to protect against depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses - it can also build self-esteem and achievement.
Resilience has 'learnable' skills. Resilient children, young people and adults can ‘resist adversity, cope with uncertainty and recover more successfully from traumatic events or episodes’. In exploring resilience based approaches, Jody Walshe will suggest ways in which all practitioners and parents can promote resilience in children, families and those who work with them.
