Tapestry Weaving: Beginners & Intermediate 5-week Course
This new 5-week tapestry weaving course will take you through all the stages of making a tapestry. Whether you are a keen beginner or improver, it is the perfect opportunity to learn a variety of techniques and work on a tapestry of your own design.
Under the expert guidance of Bridget Lane, an award-winning tapestry weaver, you will learn foundational weaving skills, including setting up a frame. In each session, a variety of techniques will be shown, from hatching and blending, weaving shapes, lines and dots, to working with multiple warps, dovetailing and using a cartoon. The tutor will assist you with your project, providing further tips and tricks along the way. Finally, you will learn how to finish off your work. By the end of the course, you will have the skills to be able to plan and weave further pieces.
Tapestry weaving allows you to be creative with an art form that plays with colour and design. It's the perfect antidote for busy people with busy lives and is easy to continue at home once you have the skills.
All weaving materials and instruction are included and a loom is supplied for you to use in class.
Cost is £225 per person for the 5 weeks.

Biography
Bridget Lane is an award-winning tapestry weaver. Her contemporary pieces have been shown in exhibitions in the UK and Australia. She is a selected Member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and a member of the Find a Maker program. www.bridgetlaneweaving.com
