Join Rosalind Whyte, accredited Arts Society lecturer and guide and lecturer at Tate and the Royal Academy, for this look at the work of one of Britain's most successful portrait painters.
This talk will be based on the National Portrait Gallery's 'Gainsborough's Family Album' exhibition, which features more than 50 works from around the world, some of which have never been displayed in public before. The exhibition charts Thomas Gainsborough's career from youth to maturity, telling the story of an 18th Century provincial artist’s rise to metropolitan fame and fortune.
