Bell House Pottery Residency
Bell House is a volunteer-led charity in South London championing creative education. The pottery opened in September 2023 as a teaching studio which runs regular courses for all levels.
We are delighted to offer our first month-long residency in August 2025 for an early career ceramicist. Our peaceful studio is set in beautiful surroundings in Dulwich village and well equipped along with a large workbench, Shimpo wheels and electric kilns.
We are offering 24/7 access to the studio, ample storage space and use of all equipment, as well as one 250L bisque firing and one 250L glaze firing (or equivalent in the smaller kilns). The residency includes free accommodation at Bell House and a weekly allowance of £150. Clay and glaze materials are not included.
There will also be an opportunity to run a paid workshop for our students at the end of your stay.
We would like to hear from you if you are currently based outside of Greater London, have studied ceramics or have completed your apprenticeship with a potter, and would use this opportunity to work on a project or develop new work.
To apply, please supply:
Cover letter including a description of your ceramic practice (techniques and processes), plus an outline of what you hope to achieve during the Bell House Pottery residency (250 words max)
CV
Portfolio (six images of recent work)
Details of two contacts who could supply a reference
Please send your application by 13th April 2025 with the subject heading: Residency to [email protected]
Interviews will take place in the last week of April.
