During the weekends of 12-13th and 19th-20th May, Benjamin and Pip Rice are having an exhibition of photographs and basketry, as part of Artist's Open House 2018.
Benjamin is showing four projects; Dry Stone Walls, Vertical Landscape, Wild Cherry and Japanese Bicycles. The inspiration for each of these includes the unhurried weathering of dry stone walls, urban parks of South London, the transformational beauty of a single tree, and the nuances of Japanese exterior design.
Pip’s work uses materials from foraging to create both traditional and experimental baskets. The city yields unexpected treasures, a good haul includes bramble, willow, beech and birch. Her weaving also includes materials found in the Bell House gardens, collected during mornings spent as a volunteer gardener.
No need to book, please just turn up on the day!
