Hosted by the Muslin Trust, you are invited to view a collection of hand sewn gowns recreating the fashions worn by British women from the 17th to 19th centuries. These gowns were sewn in separate projects funded by the National Lottery by 16-18 year old students and oldervolunteers. The volunteers from both projects workedunder the guidance ofexpert tutors.
The event will begin with short talkson the history of muslin, the presence of Jamdani in the UK and how the dresses were created. Visitors will also learn about the history of Bell House.
