Have you always wanted to use your phone to tell a story or capture an event that’s important to you but wondered where to start? 

This creative, hands-on course will cover some of the basics of film-making, including scripting, lighting and directing, to enable you to create a short film that you can shoot on your smartphone.

Students will work in teams to write, storyboard and then make a smartphone film during the one-day course. No technical experience is required – just bring your smartphone and a charger pack. Additional equipment, such as a tripod, smartphone rig or laptop, is optional.

Your tutor will be David Coultas, who has over 25 years’ experience in the film industry as a creative producer, making trailers and promos for a wide range of films, from the smallest independent to a Hollywood blockbuster. 

Tickets cost £60 and include tea, coffee and lunch.
