What is Education for?

Wednesday 2nd September - Naomi de la Tour - What is education for.jpg

Exploring the purpose of education for learners in both the university environment and beyond.

About this Event

To answer the question, what is education for, is to prepare you for making decisions about how you approach your lifelong learning and education.

About the event

In this keynote, Naomi will be exploring the different perspectives on the purpose of education before going on to ask who education is for and how we can make choices about our education based on what we believe is education. By asking ourselves these questions and acknowledging what we hope to achieve as we engage with education, we can then make decisions about how we approach our learning in the rest of the Preparing for University events. In gaining a deeper understanding of the purpose of education, we can then go on to consider formal spaces of learning such as university and a lifetime of learning and education ahead.

Please have pen and paper to hand during this session.
