FABRIC PRINTING FOR BEGINNERS
Spend three hours in Bell House’s newly-opened vintage print and bindery getting to know our historic 1860 Albion printing press and using it to explore designing and hand printing designs onto a variety of fabric samples.
In addition to our old presses we have a quantity of Indian woodblocks to play with and we will also get out some amazing and HUGE 100 yr-old wallpaper block to ink up.
After you have mastered the basics, we can help you delve into our ENORMOUS archive of wooden typefaces, illustration blocks and weird and wonderful shapes to start designing AND printing a tote bag, a gift bag or two and maybe even some vintage linen bunting to take home.
This is a brand-new workshop designed and taught by local print enthusiasts Simon Trewin from The Garage Press and Tania Hurt-Newton of Pottingshed Press who are also the co-founders of Bell House’s Print Room & Bindery.
WE ONLY HAVE SIX PLACES AVAILABLE BECAUSE WE WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE LOTS OF HANDS-ON PRINTING TIME AND HELP. BOOK FAST – THIS IS BOUND TO SELL-OUT FAST!
