Discover the delights of bees in the hive and in the wild.
Our Bell House beekeeper Annie has been keeping honeybees in six apiaries around our area for 8 years. She is committed to helping all pollinators and honeybees have enough forage for them to thrive. In each session we will explore the Bell House Garden and pollinator bed.
Equipped with bee suits and gloves, there will be an opportunity to look inside a hive, find the queen and inspect swarm cells. Annie will introduce the basics of beekeeping, describe the life inside the hive, as well as the biology and adaptation of honeybees.
For adults only. Please bring boots for protection. Participants will be provided with protective bee suits.
Please do not book if you are allergic to bee stings (you are very unlikely to be stung, and no one has been yet).
Tickets are £25, comes with a jar of Bell House honey.
