Programme

This two-day, intermediate-level course will introduce students to techniques for making lidded vessels.

Day 1 will cover demonstrations and practice in throwing a variety of galleries and lids,
including throwing lids off the hump and the use of callipers for measuring.

Day 2 will cover trimming, including how to make knobs through trimming and throwing.
If time allows, we may cover attaching side lugs and handles.

You can choose up to six lidded pots which will be glazed and fired for you.

Please note that

This course will not cover the basics of centering, pulling up or trimming. Participants need to be comfortable with these skills before signing up to the course.
