With Summer holidays on the horizon, what better way to remember good times and maybe send a unique postcard to someone? In this watercolour workshop we will be looking at different ways to approach making a miniature work of art.
Postcards from Bell House - A Watercolour Workshop
Postcards are a great way to remember good times spent over the Summer - so why not consider making and sending some original postcards of your own? In this class you will be given a small pack of postcards, made from high quality watercolour paper. You will be shown some approaches to working with watercolour in miniature and will be encouraged to look to the work of Turner and Sargent, amongst others, as well as to the Bell House gardens for inspiration.
The postcard is a delightful format, providing opportunities to play and experiment on a small scale. In recent years art on a postcard has become a popular way to raise money for good causes as well as an affordable way for people to buy miniature art works.
This class will suit all levels of experience!
All materials and refreshments will be provided, but please do feel free to bring along any materials or inspirational images of your own. Please also bring an apron to wear for this class.
