Expressive and Experimental Drawing
Everyone can draw! It is something we all do so naturally as children but often we lose the habit or the confidence as we move through school, and life. Drawing is a practice that can bring joy and freedom, whether it be doodling on a notepad or making a more formal study.
We will take inspiration from artists past and present and examine their use of different marks and materials to produce striking work full of life and immediacy.
During the first part of the class you will experiment with mark making and you will be guided through some great drawing exercises with a variety of different materials. In the second part of the class you will be encouraged to bring this all together with a more considered study.
This class is for everyone, from the absolute beginner to the more experienced artist.

About the Artist/Workshop Leader:
The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist whose range is broad – from murals to miniatures she has painted in a variety of media and styles. Sarah is an experienced art tutor who has run classes at nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery for many years.
