Make a Traditional Illuminated Letter

Part I: Design, Drawing, Transfer, Gilding

ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED – NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED

Join artist Sarah Wetherall for this month’s class in which you will learn how to make your own beautiful illuminated letter. You will be shown step by step how to design, transfer, gild and complete your own unique illuminated letter on a specially prepared wooden tile. 

This class is part 1 of two classes (part 2: Friday 28th March).  Both sessions work as stand-alone classes should you only want to book one, however booking both is highly recommended so that you will have the full experience of creating a complete, gilded and painted artwork.

Please bring an apron with you to this class.

About the Artist/Workshop Leader:

The session will be run by Sarah Wetherall, a local artist whose range is broad – from murals to miniatures she has painted in a variety of media and styles. Sarah is an experienced art tutor who ran classes at nearby Dulwich Picture Gallery for many years.
